Whats in your pocket....?

We went to the Wimbledon art studios a month or so back.

For those who don't know, its a collective studio space in South West London.  It houses the studios of about 250 artists.  Twice a year they have a studio show. Even if you don't want to buy, its worth a browse, and unlike the (un)affordable art show, entrance is free (and prices are very affordable).

Its manned by the artists, and gives them a chance to sell direct to the public.

Last time we went, we bought this piece for £80.  (Annoyingly I have lost the artist name sorry).  I love this idea.  The artist has collected all the bits and pieces that any self respecting boy of the 1970s would have had in his pocket. Its very difficult to photograph, but she has made a 3D pocket within the shadow frame, as if you are glimpsing inside the pocket while he is on the swings.

Perfect for the kids bedroom.  I love it.  I remember collecting Bazooka Jo wrappers like crazy, and playing jacks for hours with my sister.

I like the idea of collecting the odds and sods that epitomise childhood for my own kids.  Sadly these days, electronic gadgets would take the place of marbles and Jacks I suspect.

What would you would put in it?
