Handpainted table runners with fabric paint polka dots

For a party recently, I had a bunch of old scruffy picnic tables in varying sizes that needed to be jazzed up.

I didn't have enough material to cover them all, so I made table runners out of an old curtain, and put them over rolls of paper cloth.

I used an old curtain, that has been crying out for a repurpose for a number of years, and cut it into strips, sewing up a hem round each side.

I used sheets of freezer paper, and cut large circles (about 10 cm diam), and ironed these randomly over the curtain.

Paint two coats of fabric paint on each circle, allowing drying time in between

Repeat....

All that's needed is a good iron !!
