Hand painted plate: A party without cake is just a meeting.

Its my good friend Erins birthday this week - she is the most amazing baker ever, and has often made scrumptious cakes for the kids, Mr PSGC or me for our birthdays.

My kids think she is fantastic (and would probably trade me in for her in a heartbeat).  They have definitely floated the idea of a mum-swap on occasion.

Another friend and I are taking her out for her birthday on Thursday.  As a gift, I painted her a plate in gold sharpie.

First I drew my design in pencil, so I could correct mistakes, and be happy with the layout.

Then using the pencil lines, and went over in metallic gold (oil based) sharpie.  It has a superfine tip, so is perfect for writing, outlining or fine details.  Its touch dry in around 30 mins.  I place these in the oven at 140 degrees C for 30 mins, and then leave these for 3 days.  They are fully dishwasher proof on a 40 degree setting.
