Im a big fan of Movember. http://uk.movember.com/
The Movember charity champions mens health awareness. In particular testicular and prostate cancer.
They have come up with a fantastic and easy way for people to raise funds, (and a few smiles).
A number of teachers in my kids school have embraced the tache growing ethic. They get more flamboyant every year. This year my daughter made her teacher a Movember badge to support him.

I've used mustache related graphics on a number of things (tea towels, napkins, drinking glasses and mugs), but my favourite is a picture I did a year or so back, which my son nabbed for his bedroom.
He has always shunned my attempts to infiltrate art works into his room, so it was up on the wall pronto before he changed his mind.
Apologies for the rubbish photo, my camera skills need some work.

As you can imagine, it was amazingly simple to make. I painted a red background on a ready stretched frame, cut out a rough moustache shape in a large piece of paper (my daughter tells me it looks more like lips), and masking taped it onto the canvas so I had a shape to work within.
I then sketched loads of moustache shapes in pencil, and filled them in with blackboard paint.

It was so easy, even the kids filled in a few shapes. You could use this same technique for lots of shapes - lips, glasses, or have shapes of their favourite things spell out your child's initials.
