Gin and Tonic - Hendricks and Fever Tree

Don't you love it when a friend just GETS you?   A good friend came to stay recently, and brought me a bottle of my favourite tipple du jour  - Hendricks Gin.

Ok I  admit it.  This is my favourite, mainly because of the stylish apothecary style bottle. My favourite tonic (not based on packaging) is fever tree.  These bad boys were just meant to be together.   I had mine with cucumber, my friend stayed old school with a wedge of lime.

I no longer seem to be able to cope with hangovers from a night on the wine bottle, but can easily put away a gallon of decent gin.

So drinks poured, nibbles at the ready.  We got rid of the kids with a bucket of sweets, a couple of dvds and settled down to the big catch up.

We have a local antiques (Mr PSGC would say "junk") shop in the village near where we have our holiday house.  I am often seen trying to sneak in when I pop in for groceries.  I found these little wooden boards that would originally have been used as butter pats to make a rectangular block of butter.  Perfect as little serving boards.  (...if only for little snacks)

I stopped taking photos here.....and it may have been the point that we had scoffed the nibbles and started scarfing down a giant bag of dorritos.  But obviously thats not going on the blog!
